This volunteer organization, that has been in existence since 1980, has a tradition of community educational engagement in the lives of African Canadian students, parents and educators. In as much as the focus is on programs, activities, curricula and support services involving boards of education, CABE includes members of the larger community who have an interest in supporting the advancement of education for Black students. We also welcome ideas and suggestions from other interested parties that lead to positive outcomes.
In addition, the Canadian Alliance of Black Educators is pleased to announce that President, Mr. Kirk Mark, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the National Alliance of Black School Educators for the term 2007-2009 as the International Representative, which includes Canada, the Caribbean, Bermuda, to name a few. Although Mr. Mark is based in Toronto, his responsibilities will address the recruitment and enhancement of international affiliates under the theme: EDUCATION IS A CIVIL RIGHT (www.nabse.org) based on this collective effort.
With respect to organizational development, CABE encourages members to participate in Standing Committees as per the Constitution and looks forward to your engagement.
